Banco do Nordeste do Brasil has marked an important milestone in strengthening public sector governance with the successful completion of the first Formação de Conselheiros Estatais (State Councillors’ Training Program).
At Certify, we are proud to partner with Banco do Nordeste in this initiative, supporting the recognition of professionals who are helping to raise governance standards across Brazil’s state-owned enterprises.
The program was formally recognised by BNB President Wanger Antônio de Alencar Rocha and Director Ana Teresa Barbosa de Carvalho, highlighting the institution’s commitment to transparency, accountability and professional excellence in public administration.
A program designed to professionalise governance
Delivered in Fortaleza, Ceará, the inaugural cohort brought together 50 participants from federal public enterprises. The program combined structured learning with practical governance insight, covering areas such as fiduciary duties, strategic oversight and decision-making responsibilities expected of board members.
This initiative was developed through a collaboration between the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services, the Secretariat of Coordination and Governance of State-Owned Enterprises, and the Banco do Nordeste Corporate University.
Certify is proud to support this forward-thinking approach by providing digital credentialing that complements the program’s rigour and credibility.
Recognising achievement through secure digital credentials
Participants who completed the training are now eligible to take the certification exam and, upon approval, receive the Credencial de Conselheiro de Administração.
Through our partnership with Banco do Nordeste, Certify provides the digital infrastructure that enables this credential to be issued as a verifiable, shareable digital credential. Each credential offers:
- Public verification of achievement
- Clear articulation of skills and criteria
- Long-term portability for professional use
- Easy sharing on platforms such as LinkedIn
For governance professionals, this means their qualification is not only earned, but clearly visible and trusted.
A shared commitment to transparency and trust
At Certify, we believe that strong governance starts with clear recognition of competence. By partnering with Banco do Nordeste on this program, we are helping ensure that public-sector leaders can demonstrate their qualifications in a way that is secure, modern and aligned with international best practice.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to:
- Raising professional standards
- Increasing transparency in public administration
- Building public trust through recognised expertise
As newly certified councillors move into their roles, their digital credentials serve as a signal of accountability and readiness to stakeholders across government and society.
Looking ahead
The successful completion of this first cohort sets a strong foundation for future programs and demonstrates how digital credentials can support long-term governance reform.
Certify is proud to work alongside Banco do Nordeste on this initiative and to contribute to a more transparent, skilled and professionally recognised public sector in Brazil.
