How Latin America's largest logistics operator increased employee training course completion rates with Certify
Founded in 1996, Asia Shipping is the largest logistics integrator in Latin America, with over 40 offices around the world and has joined the Brazilian Authorized Economic Operator Program (AEO) and the UN Global Compact, in addition to being certified by ISO 9001:2015.
Asia Shipping was ranked by Transport Topics among the 50 largest freight forwarders. The only one in Latin America.
Asia Shipping has implemented a broad internal training program via e-learning, covering employees globally. However, it was noted that completion rates for these courses were below expectations.
Specifically, active participation and engagement from offices outside of Brazil demonstrated the need for a more robust approach. At the same time, management of employees’ training records revealed significant challenges.
Faced with these challenges, Asia Shipping opted to integrate Certify’s digital badge platform to it's training structure. This decision was motivated by several key factors:
“With the introduction of the Certify platform, we anticipate a substantial improvement in employee engagement with training programs. The one-click social networking feature is an innovation that aims to increase visibility and recognition of participants, encouraging a higher course completion rate. ” - Silvana Antunes, Quality and Process Manager at Asia Shipping.
Asia Shipping has seen not only an increase in overall course completion rates since implementing their digital badge program, but also higher levels of engagement from employees spread across multiple geographic locations.
As highlighted by Micaela Freitas, e-learning analyst at Asia Shipping: “Before Certify, we were struggling to engage employees in training and get them to complete the learning stages.”
